Who am I?
My name is Dave Mitchell IV (the “fourth” Dave referenced in the site name). I write, edit, proofread, and blog. Sometimes people even pay me to do those things. I live in southeast Texas with my wife and daughter. I catch typos in restaurant menus, I do a killer David Bowie during karaoke, and you want me on your team for Trivia Night.

What can I expect to read on this blog?

Here, I discuss issues of the day, my experiences as a relatively-new husband, issues related to Christian theology and church ministry, and my love of good stories and good books. I also post reviews of the books I read, which range from genre fiction to Christian theology to productivity and sociology. The goal of all of these discussions will ultimately be to point you to the goodness and glory of our God and King, Jesus Christ. He’s the ultimate reason I do all of this.

How often should I look for new content?

I generally try to post something new on my blog at least twice a week (Mondays and Fridays), but real life will always take precedence over new blog content. One GREAT way to make sure you don’t miss any new posts is by “following” my blog (if you are a WordPress user) or subscribing by email. You can find both of those options on the sidebar of the blog page.

What if I disagree with what you’re writing?

I love comments! On the 4thDaveBlog, I definitely welcome conversation and even respectful disagreement with the following guidelines:

  • Any comments that are insulting or abusive will be deleted.
  • Any comments with profanity will be deleted.
  • If you are unable to play nice, you will get blocked from commenting.

I am the ultimate arbiter on whether comments are allowed. My house, my rules. Thanks.
