#OctTBR2022 Day 19: “Safely Home” by Randy Alcorn

[What is #OctTBR2022? I explain it here.]

What It Is: A novel about Christian missionaries and the persecuted church.

Why I’m Reading It: This one has come highly recommended to me, and I’ve been curious ever since I heard someone talking about it a few years back. By God’s providence, my wife already owned a copy when we got married, so there you go. I used to read Christian fiction constantly during my childhood and teen years, but somewhere around college I became pretty leery of Christian fiction and assumed it was usually of questionable literary quality. (Probably a bit of English Major snobbery coming out.) Thankfully, authors like Mike Dellosso and Zach and Erin Bartels have changed my mind on that. So I’m looking forward to mixing up my theology-heavy reading list with a fun story or two. (I even have a few more on this list!)
