[What is #OctTBR2022? I explain it here.]

What It Is: An updated version of Foxe’s Book of Martyrs, produced by the ministry Voice of the Martyrs.
Why I’m Reading It: I’ve tried to read Foxe’s a few times and have always gotten bogged down. However, lately I’ve wanted to get back into reading more about church history and how the lives of past believers displayed the power of the Gospel in the face of opposition. Maybe I’m recognizing that, while my current context allows for free practice of my faith, that time may be coming to a close. It’s good to have a reminder of what faithful believers have always done in the face of persecution.
I’ve read this book a couple of times. I recently read Butler’s Lives of the Saints. I don’t usually share a review like this but in this case, it is the best way to tell you about the book. https://wordsofrejoiceblog.wordpress.com/2022/09/19/review-butlers-lives-of-the-saints-edited-by-michael-walsh/
Thanks for the recommendation!
